| November 13, 2025 | Housing portal opens at 9am (ET) for spring room selection. |
| November 30, 2025 | Housing portal closes for new applicants to make a spring room selection. All reservations are final at 11:59pm (ET). |
| December 19, 2025 | Fall Semester Move Out – Before 12pm (ET) This applies to ILS fall only exchange students, off-cycle graduates and students participating in the Semester in Washington Clinic starting in winter semester. |

| April 1, 2026 | Housing application opens at 9am (EDT) for students currently in HLS Housing who would like to return for the next academic year. AKA in-room returners. |
| April 7, 2026 | Housing application closes for in-room returners at 11:59pm (EDT). |
| April 9, 2026 | Lottery timeslot assignment is announced for in-room returners by 5pm (EDT). |
| April 13, 2026 | Housing portal opens at 9am (EDT) for in-room returners room selection and room swap. |
| May 4, 2026 | Housing application opens at 9am (EDT) for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students. |
| May 8, 2026 | Housing application closes at 11:59pm (EDT) for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students. |
| May 12, 2026 | Lottery assignment timeslot is announced for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students by 5pm (EDT). |
| May 14, 2026 | Housing portal opens at 9am (EDT) for newly admitted J.D.s, LL.M.s and all exchange students room selection and room swap. |
| May 18, 2026 | MOVE OUT FOR ALL 1Ls, 2Ls and all exchange students before 12pm (EDT). |
| May 31, 2026 | Housing portal closes at 12pm (EDT) for new reservations and room swap for both newly admitted and returning in-room applicants. Cancellation fees apply on resident hall and HLS apartment reservations. Read cancellation policy for details. |
| June 1, 2026 | Housing application and portal opens for all late applicants, recently admitted J.D.s and off-campus returning students at 9am (EDT). |
| June 1, 2026 | MOVE OUT FOR ALL GRADUATING J.D. STUDENTS, GRADUATING & NON-GRADUATING S.J.D. STUDENTS BEFORE 12PM (EDT) **NO EXCEPTIONS** |

All Move In/Out Dates Are Firm
Please be aware all dates including housing move-in and move-out dates are firm and cannot be changed. These dates are set based on various factors, including orientation, the start of classes, reading/exam periods, commencement and planned summer projects.
Plan your campus arrival and departure accordingly. Students cannot move in earlier than the dates provided however, they can move in on a later date. If you must arrive early in Cambridge or need additional time in Cambridge after your move out date, please check the links below.
