I support the Annual Fund because it provides critical resources for the dean, faculty, staff, and students to prepare for and address the country’s and the world’s many challenges. It also gives HLS the flexibility to react nimbly, while standing on the foundation of the preeminent legal education institution in the world.

How to Make Your Gift
Each year, gifts to Harvard Law School play a critical role in supporting key initiatives and limiting tuition increases. Alumni and friends can contribute to Harvard Law School through a variety of methods.
-
I have been receiving assistance from the [LIPP] program since I graduated from Harvard Law in 2014, and I can unequivocally say that my career would not have been possible without it. I went to law school to pursue immigration law and social justice work, and the assistance I received from LIPP was indispensable in helping me realize that dream.

Financial Aid: Access for All
Need-based financial aid enables Harvard Law School to enroll the most promising students from around the world, regardless of financial circumstances.
Support for the Annual Fund strengthens this commitment—enhancing aid for J.D. students and sustaining the Low Income Protection Plan (LIPP), which empowers graduates to pursue careers in public service, government, academia, and other lower-income sectors.
Clinical Programs: Learning the Law, Serving the World
Harvard Law School was the first law school in the United States to offer clinical education and continues to lead the field, providing more clinical and pro bono opportunities than any other law school. The J.D. Class of 2024 contributed nearly 400,000 hours of pro bono service—the highest total by any class in the Law School’s history.
Annual Fund support enhances this vital work by strengthening clinical programs, supporting dedicated faculty, and enabling timely, practice-based learning opportunities.
Public Service: A Focus on Community
Harvard Law School instills a deep commitment to public service in every student. Many of our graduates pursue careers and internships in government, nonprofits, public interest organizations, and beyond—making a meaningful difference in communities worldwide.
Gifts to the Annual Fund for public service support critical programs such as the Summer Public Interest Fund (SPIF), which helps students secure unpaid or underpaid summer positions in nonprofits, government agencies, NGOs, and IGOs; public service fellowships for students and recent graduates; and the Public Service Venture Fund, which awards up to $1 million annually to alumni-founded startups driving social impact.
